Dr. Carmen Sanchis-Sinisterra in an Instructional Associate Professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Mississippi.
Research Interests
Dr. Sanchis-Sinisterra's research expertise includes contemporary women writers, filmmakers and visual artists from Spain, feminist theory, care work, love studies, and community engagement.
Biography
Dr. Carmen Sanchis-Sinisterra is from Valencia, Spain. She earned a B.A. in English Philology from the University of Valencia, her M.A. in Spanish Literatures and Latin American Studies from the University of Iowa, and her Ph.D. in Spanish Literatures, Cultures, and Film Studies from the Graduate Center, CUNY, in New York City. As a teacher she seeks to foster connection between the university and the Hispanic community around her, as a researcher she explores feminist themes.
