Dr. Maria Fionda is an Associate Professor of Spanish and Linguistics in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Mississippi. She is the Graduate Program Director for the M.A. in Modern Languages, emphases in Linguistics or TESOL.
Research Interests
Dr. Fionda's research interests include Language Variation and Change, Morphosyntax, Psycholinguistics, Second Language Acquisition, and Usage-Based Grammar Theory.
Biography
Dr. Maria Fionda earned her Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics (2014) and M.A. in Spanish Linguistics (2008) from the University of Florida. She earned the B.A. in Spanish Literature (Honours) and Italian Literature from Concordia University in 2003.
