Ms. Diana Semmes is a Lecturer of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Mississippi.
Biography
Ms. Diana Semmes has been teaching at UM since 2007. She holds a B. A. in History and a M. A. in Spanish from the University of Mississippi. Her interests include second language acquisition and bilingualism in children as well as linguistics. Her interest in Spanish began at a young age in part due to hearing the stories of the mission trips her grandmother made to Mexico. It sparked a curiosity in the language and culture of the people that only continued to grow over time. As a student, Spanish always came naturally, and in college became a favorite subject that eventually led to the pathway to teaching and interpreting.
