Get Involved with CMSE: Undergraduate Opportunities and Assistantships

Undergraduate students enrolled at the University of Mississippi are engaged in the work of the CMSE in a variety of ways. Through volunteer opportunities and part-time employment, UM students have made valuable contributions to our mission. We encourage students with an interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to explore the variety of ways to get involved with our programs.

Undergraduate Assistants

The Center for Mathematics and Science Education (CMSE) at the University of Mississippi currently offers assistantships to undergraduate students who are in good academic standing and making progress toward his/her degree.  Preference may be given to those who are Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) majors and who are considering teaching as a career.

If you are interested in applying for a CMSE Undergraduate Assistantship, please complete the application below. If you have further questions, please contact our Assistant Director of Professional Learning, Dr. Julie James at jjames1@olemiss.edu.

  • FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Program
  • Mobile Planetarium Program
  • STEM Explorations (K-8)
  • STEM Excursions (7-12)
  • STEM Experts (K-12) - graduate student volunteers
  • Academic Competitions

If you are interested in volunteering for CMSE programs, submit a Volunteer Interest Form to get in touch with a member of our staff.
