Instruct horn players in both private and group settings on improving both fundamental aspects of the instrument as well as performance and audition preparatory strategies. Teach various music courses encompassing a variety of topics and intensities, including music theory, history, and education.
Biography
Vincent Morreale is Instructor of Horn at the University of Mississippi. He previously worked with Miles College in Birmingham, Alabama and has held private studios across the country, most recently in Dallas, Texas. Vincent has had the opportunity throughout his career to play with ensembles such as the Knoxville Symphony and Jazz Orchestras, Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra, Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra, and Chicago City-Wide Orchestra where he performed as a featured artist in addition to being a regular member. His work with the CCWO included later serving as the Music Director. While at the Frost School of Music, Vincent was a member of the Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra which performed live with Gloria Estefan and participated in recording music for the film A Change of Heart. Vincent has also had the joy of performing with Joshua Bell, Gregg Field, Terence Blanchard, Brian Lynch, Edgar Meyer, and others throughout his career. Vincent received his B.M. in Music Education from the University of Tennessee, M.M. in Instrumental Performance from the Frost School of Music in Miami, Florida, and D.M.A. in Horn Performance at the University of Alabama. His thesis is a recording project titled Journey: International Works for Horn, which aims to bring more diversity to the horn repertoire by focusing on composers outside of the Euro-American sphere. Vincent’s primary teachers are Calvin Smith, Karl Kramer, Richard Todd, and Charles “Skip” Snead. Vincent performs on a Karl Hill "Kortesmaki" double horn.
