Gavin Davies

Dr. Gavin Davies is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Mississippi. He is also the Graduate Program Coordinator for the department.

Research Interests

Dr. Davies is an experimental elementary particle physicist. His research is primarily focused on Neutrino Physics. He was also the Chair of Fermilab Users Executive Committee. He is the Mississippi Principal Investigator for Fermilab's Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE). 

Biography

Dr. Davies received a Ph.D. in Physics from Lancaster University (UK). He did postdoctoral research at Indiana University, where he worked with the NOvA experiment with Fermilab, the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory with the US Department of Energy/

OXFORD, Miss. – Researchers are a step closer to having the technology to unravel one of the most mysterious particles in the universe after the U.S. Department of Energy's Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory announced Thursday (Feb. 1) that excavation on three giant caverns in South Dakota is complete.
