Ms. Carmen Kennedy is an Academic Advisor I in the Health Professions Advising Office at the University of Mississippi. Her primary advising responsibilities include Pre-Med, Physician Assistant, and Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She is also an Adjunct Instructor for the Center for Student Success and First Year Experience.
Biography
Ms. Carmen Kennedy primarily works with pre-medical, pre-physical assistant and pre-veterinary medicine students, while overseeing the office's tutoring program and annual health fair.
Carmen is originally from Booneville, MS. She earned an A.A. in Education from Northeast Mississippi Community College; B.S. in Secondary Education from Mississippi State University; and a M.A. in Higher Education from the University of Mississippi.
After teaching middle school for two years, Carmen began working at the University of Mississippi's Office of Admissions in 2022. In 2023, she transitioned to the Health Professions Advising Office as an academic advisor.
Carmen and her husband, Jeremy, are expecting their first child this summer.
