Dixie Barfield joined the University in June 2024 and serves as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel.
Biography
Prior to joining the University, Dixie was a longtime Legal Department employee at FedEx World Headquarters in Memphis, TN, where she advanced to the position of Regulatory Affairs Administrator. During her tenure at FedEx, she served on major projects for the Division, was recognized as Legal Department Employee of the Month, and received multiple awards for outstanding performance.
A native of Greenwood, MS, Dixie received her Associate of Arts Degree from Mississippi Delta Community College. She grew up on Ole Miss football and attended the University as an undergraduate. Dixie and her husband Jay have a blended family of 9 children, 1 amazing granddaughter, and 2 very spoiled dogs. They enjoy the great outdoors, traveling, attending concerts, and spending time with family and friends.
