Finals Week is May 6-10, 2024. Students should plan to complete the checkout process 24 hours after their last final. All university owned or managed residence halls, residential colleges, and apartments close on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. CT.

Information will be sent to residents via Ole Miss Gmail. The summer housing application will be available beginning April 1, 2024 at 9:00 am CT.

Prior to checking out, student rooms must be completely empty and clean. Personal items should not be left in any room or hallway. All trash must be brought to the dumpster. Rooms left excessively dirty will result in additional fees. Any personal items left in university owned or managed residence halls, residential colleges, or apartments after buildings close on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. CT will be considered abandoned property, packed and removed at the student’s expense. Charges for packing and removal will be applied to the student’s bursar account.

Students must select a Spring 2024 Checkout Appointment in the Student Housing Portal, notifying Student Housing when they plan to move out. At their designated time, students will complete checkout within the Student Housing Portal using one of two options.

  • Express Checkout  The student is fully responsible for independently verifying that they are ready to properly check out of their room. The student will complete the checkout process online at their convenience. No Student Housing staff member will be present to physically check the student’s space while the student remains in the room.
  • In-person Checkout  The student can complete the checkout process in-person with a Student Housing staff member. The student should go to the front desk of their assigned residence hall or apartment and request and in-person checkout. In-person checkouts will be available daily. A Student Housing staff member will be present to physically walk through the room with the student to verify potential damages and cleanliness of the student’s space.

Student must login to the Student Housing Portal and select Check In/Check Out from the red menu bar. They will then be directed to either the express checkout process or the in-person checkout process. Both require the student to complete check out in the Student Housing Portal. Students cannot check out at the front desk.
