  • About

Destiny is majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry. Outside of class, she is a Grove Scholar, and a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta.

Why did you choose to attend UM?

The atmosphere reminded me of home. Once I walked in the Grove and met some of professors I knew this was the place for me.

When and how did you choose your major(s)/minor(s)?

I always had a love for science and it never changed when I went to college.

What would you tell a high school student about your major?

I would tell them that the classes might seem hard at first but the professors are understanding. The most important thing is not to give up on yourself if you fail the first test. As long as you learn from it and try to do better next time.

Can you tell me about a professor or a class you've taken that has had the most impact on you?

I would say learning from Dr. Rowland has made an impact on me. She helped me develop better study habits when I was taking General Chemistry.

What do you hope to do after you graduate?

After I graduate I plan to go to medical school. My goal is to become a pediatric geneticist.

What is your go-to meal in Oxford?

My go-to meal is a burger from BimBams.

What is one thing you wish you knew as an incoming freshman that you'd tell your past self?

I wish I had better study habits when I started as a freshman. Because it is hard trying to learn new material and new study habits at the same time.
